Cron implementations differ. CronParse keeps one small contract so a successful parse has a clear meaning.

Tokens such as */5, MON, @daily, L, W and ? are outside the accepted grammar.

The target scheduler is authoritative

Even a supported expression must be checked for timezone, DST and dialect behavior in the real scheduler.
